CMS UMBRACO

UMBRACO is a very open and flexible content management system, on which many companies, schools and governments build their presentations. The company intranet and website are safe with the UMBRACO CMS. It is possible to link them with other systems. Or use internal Umbraco forms to support company processes and proper data structure.

UMBRACO is suitable for larger and more specific projects. Its advantage is the separation of data from graphics.

UMBRACO is an advanced database management system. Compared to the most widely used system, WordPress, for example, it differs in particular in that it emphasizes the separation of data from its display (it follows the MVC pattern). This is very good for maintaining a uniform graphical style across multiple sites. The user is completely separated from the graphical output, only adding/editing data. The captured content (text, lists, news) can be displayed on multiple pages of the site due to the fact that the used and programmed parts of the pages can easily be used in other pages. The change of data is then automatically reflected in all used pages. The user is thus in control of the entire site and cannot forget to edit a new entry in multiple places. In addition, this division allows easy connection and interfacing with other systems.

UMBRACO is suitable for corporate intranets. Access rights to edit, log and display content can be set very well.

UMBRACO has excellent support for displaying in different languages. The different languages are entered in one place in the content management system, and even the languages can be displayed for editing side by side. After saving, all edited language versions will be displayed. So there is no need to edit the page for English, then copy that edit to the English page, as is common in WordPress, for example.

UMBRACO is more secure, less susceptible to cyber attacks than the most commonly used PHP technology (for example, the already mentioned WordPress). This is both due to the .NET technology used (like Java technology, it does not directly access the computer) and the adherence to security recommendations by UMBRACO developers.

UMBRACO is not well known in the Czech Republic, but abroad it is one of the most popular content management systems for the Microsoft .NET technology platform. It is used by over half a million websites, including global brands such as Microsoft, 66north, Carslberg, Czech Airlines and Masaryk University in the Czech Republic. 

But also in the Czech Republic we can find examples of successful use of CMS Umbraco. Such as at Masaryk University in Brno.

Umbraco is a .NET opensource CMS written in C#. We can use this system not only for classic deployment as a content management system. Thanks to the extensible design of this system, we can modify both the frontend and backend completely according to the customer's needs (implementation of newly created javascript components). For example, we have created complex questionnaires in the backend of this system, which we have effectively shown on the website. We display and edit data from HELIOS.
